Soccer Game Preview: Sultana vs. Knight

The Sultana Sultans will take on the Knight Hawks in a holiday battle at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. Knight took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Sultana, who comes in off a win.

Sultana was handed a seven-goal loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Hillcrest, sneaking past 2-1. The win was some much needed relief for Sultana as it spelled an end to their three-match losing streak.

Madison Hernandez and Cissy Men scored both of Sultana's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 13 goals.

Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, Knight was a bit more limited in their match on Wednesday. They fell just short of Littlerock by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, Knight can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 433rd, while Littlerock are ranked 123rd).

Sultana's victory bumped their record up to 7-4-1. As for Knight, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5-1 record this season.
