Football Game Preview: Hempfield Area Spartans vs. Mt. Lebanon Blue Devils + Official Tickets

Hempfield Area hasn't had much luck against Mt. Lebanon recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Spartans will venture away from home to square off against the Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. Hempfield Area has given up an average of 33.6 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Hempfield Area is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Seneca Valley on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Spartans had to suffer through a 47-8 loss at the hands of the Raiders. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-0.

Meanwhile, Mt. Lebanon was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 19-14 to Penn Hills. The Blue Devils haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Mt. Lebanon's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Hempfield Area, they suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 4-4.

Hempfield Area might still be hurting after the 42-20 loss they got from Mt. Lebanon in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Blue Devils' Pat Smith, who rushed for 110 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 111 yards and two TDs.
