Soccer Recap: Independence Takes a Loss

While it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Independence was not quite La Joya Community's equal in the second half on Friday. They fell just short of the La Joya Community Fighting Lobos by a score of 2-1. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Fighting Lobos apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Independence's goal came courtesy of Angel Olivas, who's now up to 12 this season.

Independence's loss dropped their record down to 7-6-5. As for La Joya Community, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-9-2.

As of now, neither Independence nor La Joya Community have any future games scheduled.
