Basketball Recap: Wood Falls Despite Big Games from Mikyah Dixon and Nateyah Ebuen

On Tuesday, the Wood Wildcats didn't have quite enough to beat the Sacramento Dragons and fell 51-49. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wood's loss came despite strong showings from Nateyah Ebuen and Mikyah Dixon. Ebuen posted 16 points in addition to seven boards and three steals, while Dixon put up 17 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Ebuen a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Amiyah Murry, who had four points and nine rebounds.

La Ne Dunn was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards for Sacramento. The matchup was Dunn's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bianca Clark, who posted eight points and 12 rebounds.

Wood now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Sacramento, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Wood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-18 defeat against Vanden on the 9th. As for Sacramento, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 45-37 win against River City on the 9th.
