Recap: Centennial Golden Hawks vs. Highland Scots
The Centennial Golden Hawks scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They blew past Highland, posting a 91-9 victory at home. Centennial might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won six matches by 20 points or more this season.
Centennial found their leader in underclassman Kai Shaw, who dropped a triple-double on 15 points, ten rebounds, and 11 steals. Shaw also posted eight assists for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was LuLu Flores , who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Centennial's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.2 points per game. As for Highland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
Centennial will head out on the road to face off against Stockdale at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Stockdale will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1082nd, while Centennial is ranked 161st). As for Highland, they will be playing at home against Independence at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Independence focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Friday.
