Basketball Recap: Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer Takes a Loss

If Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer was riding high fresh off their 45-21 takedown of Diller-Odell on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Titans took a 51-32 bruising from the Weeping Water Indians on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for the Titans in their meetings with the Indians: they've now lost six in a row.

Despite the loss, Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer still got an impressive performance from Elie Bstandig, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 19 rebounds. Bstandig is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down ten or more in each of the last four games she's played dating back to last season.

Leading Weeping Water to victory were Kallie Brack and Ella Huskey. Brack dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 rebounds, while Huskey posted 17 points. The dominant performance also gave Brack a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (67%). Another player making a difference was Clara MEYER, who had 12 points.

Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Weeping Water, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer is taking a road trip to take on Lourdes Central Catholic on Friday. As for Weeping Water, they will host Conestoga at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
