Volleyball Recap: High Plains Triumphs

High Plains won the last time they faced Newman Grove/St. Edward and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Storm skirted past the Panthers 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Storm.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day High Plains got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 21-25, 25-15.

Peyton Hofmann paced High Plains' offense, picking up 11 kills. Hofmann got some help from Gahvi Lesiak and her 25 assists. Hofmann also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Halliejo Urkoski, each putting up three.

High Plains' record is now 8-6. As for Newman Grove/St. Edward, the loss snapped their winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 10-6 record.

High Plains wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Dorchester on the 25th. As for Newman Grove/St. Edward, they will venture away from home to square off against Stuart on Tuesday.
