Basketball Recap: Yerba Buena Comes Up Short

Yerba Buena was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 48-25 to the Del Mar Dons. The Aztec Warriors lost against the Dons in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 61-12 score last time.

Zoey Hinkle continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Del Mar, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Arianna Fuentes, who posted five points in addition to seven assists and five boards.

Yerba Buena's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Del Mar, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Yerba Buena will head out to square off against Newark Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. As for Del Mar, they will host Saratoga at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
