Leyton waltzed into their matchup on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Garden County Eagles 63-22. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 20 contests by 21 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Zaili Benish, who to rack up 22 points along with five assists and five boards. She has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more points the last 35 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Shawnee Gamble, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Leyton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 17 consecutive games.

Despite the defeat, Garden County had strong showings from Kirstyn Beberniss, who posted eight points and five boards, and Breanna Yates, who had nine points and six rebounds.

Leyton pushed their record up to 21-2 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.6 points over those games. As for Garden County, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-10.

Looking ahead, Leyton will square off against Anselmo-Merna on Friday. Anselmo-Merna is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.2 points per game this season. Garden County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
