Football Recap: Southern Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Southern lost against Annapolis back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bulldogs were dealt a 50-7 loss at the hands of the Panthers. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-7.

Vinny Zimmerman threw for 110 yards and one TD. Isaiah Crampton was his top target, picking up 87 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Hayden Moore rushed for 38 yards.

Zyhir Neal was nothing short of spectacular for Annapolis: he rushed for 202 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries, and also threw for 70 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 80% of his passes. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Neal a new career-high. Nysean Harris Johnson was another key player, rushing for 69 yards and one score.

Southern's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Annapolis, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Southern didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 22-12 win against Patapsco on the 19th. As for Annapolis, they have also already played their next game, a 21-7 loss against Glen Burnie on the 19th.
