Soccer Game Preview: Argonaut vs. Hilmar

The Argonaut Mustangs will head out on the road to challenge the Hilmar Yellowjackets at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Argonaut is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.9 goals per game this season.

Argonaut is headed into the game without a loss and will look to keep things rolling. They beat El Dorado by a goal, winning 2-1.

Josie Gilliam and Megan Henness scored both of Argonaut's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hilmar). They were the clear victor by an 8-1 margin over Riverbank on Wednesday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Yellowjackets considering their one-goal performance the contest before.

Hilmar has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those four games. As for Argonaut, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0-1.

Argonaut came up short against Hilmar when the teams last played back in February, falling 2-0. Can Argonaut avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
