Baseball Game Preview: Stark County Rebels vs. Brimfield Indians

The Stark County Rebels will venture away from home to challenge the Brimfield Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The last four games Stark County has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Stark County might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 4-3 to Bureau Valley, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The defeat continues a trend for the Rebels in their meetings with the Storm: they've now lost seven in a row.

Stark County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Daum, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Brimfield came tearing into Saturday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Wildcats a 15-0 shutout. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by ten runs or more this season.

Stark County's loss dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Brimfield, their victory bumped their record up to 19-3.

Stark County suffered a grim 18-2 defeat to Brimfield when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Can the Rebels avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
