Baseball Game Preview: Dublin Fighting Irish vs. Swainsboro Tigers

The Dublin Fighting Irish will venture away from home to take on the Swainsboro Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Dublin is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.

Dublin had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Northeast on Tuesday. Dublin put the hurt on Northeast with a sharp 15-5 win. The Fighting Irish might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by seven runs or more this season.

Dublin got a massive performance out of Tyrese Robinson, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. The dominant performance gave Robinson a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Ryland Yates, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Dublin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Swainsboro had just enough and edged out Johnson County 3-2 on Friday.

Dublin's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Swainsboro, their record is now 11-2.

Dublin might still be hurting after the 8-1 loss they got from Swainsboro in their previous meeting back in February. Can Dublin avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
