Basketball Recap: Mars Takes a Loss

Mars lost to South Fayette back in December of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Fightin' Planets took a blow against the Lions, falling 92-36. The Fightin' Planets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-14.

Despite the loss, Mars still got an impressive performance from Alexis Cashdollar, who went 6-for-14 on her way to 14 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. That was a full 38.9% of the Fightin' Planets' points, marking the eighth time in a row Cashdollar has posted more than a third of the team's points. Isabella Schuller also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Mars and nudges their season record down to 5-9. As for South Fayette, they pushed their record up to 15-1 with the victory, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Mars will venture away from home to take on Pine-Richland at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for South Fayette, they will host West Allegheny at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
