Franklin County proved they can win big last Monday (they won by five) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Lumpkin County Indians 2-1. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 victory the Indians walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2016.

The win got Franklin County back to even at 3-3. As for Lumpkin County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Franklin County will face off against Lake Oconee Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lumpkin County, they will challenge Dawson County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lumpkin County will be up against Dawson County's rather soft defense (which has allowed 5.2 goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
