Recap: West Wolfpack vs. Lincoln Trojans

The West Wolfpack's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They were dealt a 66-21 loss at the hands of Lincoln. While losing is never fun, West can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 842nd, while Lincoln is ranked 65th).

Lincoln's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brelynn Brice led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Brice is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Ameena Duke, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.

West dropped their record down to 7-16 with that loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.9 points per game. As for Lincoln, their win bumped their record up to 17-5.

West will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Marysville at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lincoln, they will be playing at home against Lodi at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lodi is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
