Basketball Recap: Victory Christian Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Roseland Collegiate Prep last Friday, Victory Christian Academy came back down to earth. The contest between the Victory Christian Academy Eagles and the Calistoga Wildcats didn't end well, with the Victory Christian Academy Eagles falling 45-26. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost four in a row.

Calistoga found their leader in sophomore Italia Barrera, who posted 17 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Barrera has scored at least a third of Calistoga's points. Hania Cortez was another key player, putting up eight points.

Victory Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Calistoga, they pushed their record up to 6-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Victory Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 70-21 victory against Technology on the 23rd. Calistoga has also already played their next game, a 71-40 win against Trinity Prep on the 22nd.
