Baseball Game Preview: Bakersfield Drillers vs. Independence Falcons

For the second straight game, Bakersfield will face off against Independence. The Drillers will square off against the Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

The home team had come away the winner the last three times Bakersfield and Independence had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Drillers fell 5-2 to the Falcons on Monday.

Peter Dunlap put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Dunlap wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Johnathan Quintino, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

With the victory, Independence broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-19. As for Bakersfield, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 11-16.
