Softball Game Preview: Sullivan Eagles vs. Rolla Bulldogs

The Sullivan Eagles will take on the Rolla Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Sullivan's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on St. James with a sharp 13-0 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their two-run performance the game before.

Rae Corwin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Corwin was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Ella Blanton was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Cali Koppelmann-Blue, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Sullivan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. James only posted an OBP of .118.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Rolla nor Sullivan made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Bulldogs skirted past the Eagles 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since October 4, 2024.

Rolla's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Sullivan, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
