Softball Recap: Wayne Find Success

Wayne proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by 11) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Centura Centurions.

The team relied heavily on Jordyn Gamble, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lilly Johnson, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Wayne now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Centura, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Wayne wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 1-0 win against Twin River on the 23rd. As for Centura, they have also already played their next contest, a 7-3 victory against O'Neill on the 23rd.
