Football Recap: Dorsey Takes a Loss

Dorsey was the 20-14 winner over King/Drew when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Dons were just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 17-16 to the Golden Eagles. The Dons were right on the edge of victory: they outscored the Golden Eagles in the fourth quarter 8-0.

The critical scores for King/Drew came from Giovanni Gaut and Samuel Richard.

Dorsey has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for King/Drew, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Coming up, Dorsey will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against George Washington Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Generals' defense has only allowed 12 points per game this season, so the Dons' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for King/Drew, they will square off against Crenshaw at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Golden Eagles 9.6, the Cougars 11.2) so any points scored will be well earned.
