Basketball Game Preview: Sage Creek Bobcats vs. Oceanside Pirates

The Sage Creek Bobcats will venture away from home to square off against the Oceanside Pirates at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Last Friday, Sage Creek came up short against San Dieguito Academy and fell 39-29. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Oceanside, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against El Camino by a score of 42-34 on Monday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Pirates as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Oceanside's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.1 points per game. As for Sage Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.

Sage Creek didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Oceanside when the teams last played back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 55-50 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Oceanside's Martina Griffin, who went 10 of 22 on her way to 28 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
