Softball Game Preview: Flowery Branch Falcons vs. Northview Titans

The Flowery Branch Falcons will square off against the Northview Titans at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Flowery Branch is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 16 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Eastside on Thursday. They lost 16-1 to the Eagles. The loss continues a trend for the Falcons in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Northview hadn't done well against Chattahoochee recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Titans were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Cougars.

Reese Cook was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Burdick, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs.

Northview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Flowery Branch's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Northview, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Flowery Branch took their win against Northview in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 12-3 score. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Titans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
