Softball Recap: Alburnett Extends Winning Streak to Four

Alburnett had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They blew past the Springville Orioles 10-4. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won nine matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Alburnett's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-7. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Springville, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Alburnett beat the Orioles by a score of 9-3 later that day.
