Baseball Recap: Early County Bobcats vs. Carroll Eagles

Early County fell 11-8 to the Carroll Eagles on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for the Bobcats in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Jimmy Powell was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over 4.1 innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in February. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Early County is 2-1 when Powell posts three or more RBI, but 6-8 otherwise.
