The Rosamond Roadrunners can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 56-14 win over California City on the road. Given Rosamond's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 531st, while California City is ranked 1294th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ariel Cain continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kiley Perez, who scored nine points along with seven steals.
Rosamond's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-7. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.9 points per game. As for California City, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-12.
Rosamond won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Wasco at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th. Wasco has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 28. As for California City, they will head out on the road to take on Desert at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Desert is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
