Softball Recap: Worth County Rams vs. Baconton Charter Blazers
Worth County was the 11-3 winner over Baconton Charter when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Rams fell just short of the Blazers by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. Rams fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Blazers since Thursday.
Laurie Pritchard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, Worth County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Molly Williford, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Worth County's loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2. As for Baconton Charter, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Looking ahead, Worth County will square off against Bainbridge at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Baconton Charter, they will welcome Valwood at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
