Recap: Tussey Mountain Titans vs. Claysburg-Kimmel Bulldogs
In what's become a running theme this season, the Tussey Mountain Titans gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 53-15 win over Claysburg-Kimmel. That 38 points margin sets a new team best for Tussey Mountain this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tussey Mountain to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cara Benton, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Karah Husick, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Claysburg-Kimmel struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Tussey Mountain racked up ten assists.
The victory makes it two in a row for Tussey Mountain and bumps their season record up to 10-5. As for Claysburg-Kimmel, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tussey Mountain will square off against Fannett Metal at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Claysburg-Kimmel, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Southern Huntingdon County at 7:15 p.m. on January 26th. Southern Huntingdon County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Claysburg-Kimmel in Pennsylvania (Southern Huntingdon County is ranked 133rd, while Claysburg-Kimmel is ranked 605th).
