Baseball Recap: Central Takes a Loss

Central fell victim to McHenry and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Warriors, falling 6-0. The Rockets just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Aidric Arndt was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11-2. As for McHenry, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3-1 record this season.

Central will square off against Huntley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for McHenry, they will face off against Johnsburg at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday. The Skyhawks' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
