Basketball Recap: Kensington Skates Past Sankofa Freedom Academy with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kensington). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 54-21 win over the Sankofa Freedom Academy Warriors. The victory was just business as usual for the KENSINGTON TIGER, who after six games remain undefeated this season.

Kensington's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was ANNIE ORTIZ, who posted 12 points. DIAMOND SCHULER was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Kensington pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 16.4 points per game. As for Sankofa Freedom Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Kensington will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Paul Robeson at 3:15 p.m. on January 6, 2025. After both having extra time off, Sankofa Freedom Academy and Mariana Bracetti Academy will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 3:15 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
