Basketball Recap: Linfield Christian Skates Past Lakeside with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Linfield Christian). They claimed a resounding 63-26 victory over the Lakeside Lancers. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 44-29 win the Lancers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.

Linfield Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Charli Calas out in front who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 16 rebounds. That's the most points Calas has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Johnson, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 13 points in addition to eight assists and six boards.

Linfield Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

When it comes to explaining why Lakeside lost on Friday, don't look at Aeiress Hearn. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. Hearn continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played.

Linfield Christian moved to 2-7 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Lakeside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Linfield Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-4 victory against Santa Rosa Academy on the 7th. As for Lakeside, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 67-21 win against California Lutheran on the 7th.
