Woodstock took an eight-run loss the last time they faced off against Pope, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wolverines won by a run and slipped past the Greyhounds 2-1. That's two games straight that the Wolverines have won by just one run.

The victory made it two in a row for Woodstock and bumps their season record up to 7-12. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 9-5 Lassiter (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 59.9% over those games). As for Pope, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-8.

Looking ahead, Woodstock will venture away from home to take on Etowah at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pope, they will welcome Lassiter at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
