Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Melissa

Melissa had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past the Anna Coyotes 3-0. That's more bragging rights for the Cardinals, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-17, 25-9.

Duura Kpea paced Melissa's offense, picking up 12 kills. Kpea got some help from Presley Williford and her 25 assists. Williford was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Melissa's win bumped their record up to 16-12. As for Anna, they dropped their record down to 16-17 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Melissa will challenge rival Denison at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Anna is set to face off against their familiar foe Greenville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
