Preview: Forest Hills Rangers vs. Chestnut Ridge Lions
Forest Hills is 6-1 against Chestnut Ridge since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Forest Hills Rangers will be playing at home against the Chestnut Ridge Lions at 7:15 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Forest Hills has four straight victories, Chestnut Ridge has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Monday, Forest Hills earned a 60-50 victory over Central Cambria. Given Forest Hills' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while Central Cambria is ranked 136th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Alexis Henderson, who scored 26 points. Olivia Mcleary was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Chestnut Ridge suffered their biggest loss since December 8, 2023 on Monday. They were the victim of a rough 65-42 loss at the hands of Bishop Carroll. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Chestnut Ridge has suffered against Bishop Carroll since December 13, 2018.
Forest Hills pushed their record up to 12-3 with that victory, which was their 11th straight on the road. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 23.18 points. As for Chestnut Ridge, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season.
Forest Hills couldn't quite finish off Chestnut Ridge in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 and fell 50-47. Can Forest Hills avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
