Soccer Game Preview: Palm Desert vs. El Modena

The Palm Desert Aztecs will head out to take on the El Modena Vanguards at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

El Modena will have to contend with a Palm Desert team hungry for a win, something the squad hasn't seen since November 21. Palm Desert came up short against Corona del Mar on Saturday, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, the Aztecs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 450th, while the Sea Kings are ranked 30th).

Meanwhile, El Modena had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They and Tustin finished up their match with a 1-1 draw on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Vanguards as the team has yet to pick up a win this season.

El Modena's draw makes their record 0-6-3 this season. As for Palm Desert, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4-1.
