Baseball Recap: Kennesaw Mountain Has No Trouble Against Pebblebrook

While Kennesaw Mountain didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on the Pebblebrook Falcons with a sharp 13-3 win on Tuesday. Considering the Mustangs have won four contests by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jackson Dietz made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Isander Poventud was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brady Caron, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

Kennesaw Mountain always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .710. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Kennesaw Mountain is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. Pebblebrook dropped their record down to 1-4 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Kennesaw Mountain will have a chance to go back-to-back against Pebblebrook: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:55 p.m. on Thursday.
