Basketball Recap: Branham Takes a Loss

Branham was the 51-42 winner over Willow Glen when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Branham Bruins fell 62-51 to the Willow Glen Rams on Thursday.

Willow Glen's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Natalia Valerio, who went 6 of 11 en route to 20 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. Valerio has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Sophia Diaz was another key player, going 10 for 19 on her way to 23 points and eight boards.

Branham dropped their record down to 11-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Willow Glen, their victory bumped their record up to 13-8.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Leland the next time they take the court. Branham will host Leland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Willow Glen will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
