Recap: North Monterey County Condors vs. Aptos Mariners
The North Monterey County Condors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Aptos by a score of 39-36. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for North Monterey County in their matchups with Aptos: they've now lost three in a row.
Aptos found their leader in underclassman Gabby Wickham, who scored 17 points along with 3 steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Wickham has scored at least 25% of Aptos' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Laurel Southall, who scored 10 points.
North Monterey County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Aptos, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
North Monterey County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Carmel at 3:30 p.m. on December 30th. Aptos' road trip will continue as they head out to face North Salinas at 7:00 p.m. on December 14th.
