Softball Recap: Briarfield Academy Find Success

While Briarfield Academy's win against Claiborne Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Briarfield Academy narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Claiborne Academy 10-8. Briarfield Academy hasn't had any issues with Claiborne Academy recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Maggie Frith was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Ella Claire Payne was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Briarfield Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That's the most strikeouts they've posted since back in August of 2024.

Briarfield Academy now has a winning record of 2-1.

Coincidentally, Briarfield Academy and Claiborne Academy will both be playing Central School the next time they take the field. Briarfield Academy will head out to face Central School at 11:20 a.m. on Friday, while Claiborne Academy will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on August 19.
