Chilton extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping them up to 10-8. They put the hurt on the Oconto Blue Devils with a sharp 14-6 win. Considering the Tigers have won seven contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Nathan Mueller and Lucas Groeschl were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Mueller tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Groeschl pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (two). At bat, Mueller got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Groeschl went 1-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That double was Mueller's first of the season.
In other batting news, Chilton got a massive performance out of Kale Wagner, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. The Tigers are undefeated when Wagner posts two or more runs, but 6-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Braydyn Wampole, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Chilton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
As for Oconto, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat they have suffered since May 12, 2025.
On Oconto's side, Easton Campshure made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Roman Cantu, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Chilton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Winnebago Lutheran Academy on the 18th. As for Oconto, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 4-0 victory against Sturgeon Bay on the 19th.
