Baseball Recap: Shaker Takes a Loss

Shaker and Saratoga Springs squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Shaker had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Blue Streaks by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bison have suffered since May 25, 2025.

Shaker saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ian Bruce, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another was Caden Ditzel, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Shaker's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Saratoga Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

While Shaker had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
