Basketball Recap: Oak Ridge Extends Winning Streak to Five

Oak Ridge extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping them up to 10-6. They blew past the Davis Sr. Blue Devils 55-35. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 20 points or more this season.

As for Davis Sr., their loss dropped their record down to 11-6. They haven't had much luck with Oak Ridge recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Despite the defeat, Davis Sr. saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lorelei Nachman posted 20 points. That was a full 57.1% of the Blue Devils' points, marking the third time in a row Nachman has scored more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Sonia Clayton, who had eight points and three blocks.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Oak Ridge will challenge rival Whitney at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Davis Sr. is set to square off against their familiar foe Granite Bay at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
