Softball Recap: High Point Christian Academy Picks Up 24th Straight Win at Home

High Point Christian Academy waltzed into their contest on Saturday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They put the hurt on the Freedom Christian Academy Patriots with a sharp 12-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won 14 matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Paisley Dixon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, High Point Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Blakely Bowman, who went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Bowman is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played. Landyn Smith was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: High Point Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

High Point Christian Academy pushed their record up to 18-4 with the victory, which was their 24th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for Freedom Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 22-4.

High Point Christian Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Patriots: the pair will be back at it again later today.
