Basketball Recap: Wiseburn- Da Vinci Takes a Loss

Wiseburn- Da Vinci was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 40-38 heartbreaker at the hands of the Torrance Tartars. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 793rd, while the Tartars are ranked 221st).

When it comes to explaining why Wiseburn- Da Vinci lost, don't look at Kayla Muhammad-Flissinger. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Muhammad-Flissinger continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ashley Sutton, who posted seven points and seven boards.

Wiseburn- Da Vinci's loss dropped their record down to 4-21. As for Torrance, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wiseburn- Da Vinci will head out to square off against Peninsula at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Torrance, they will head out on the road to take on Palos Verdes at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
