Baseball Game Preview: Wallington Panthers vs. Saddle Brook Falcons

Wallington is 2-7 against Saddle Brook since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Panthers will face off against the Falcons at 4:00 p.m.

On Saturday, Wallington didn't have quite enough to beat Hawthorne Christian and fell 2-1.

Eddie Tanderis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits.

On the hitting side, Wallington saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marlon Rodriguez, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, Saddle Brook got the win against Ridgefield Memorial on Saturday by a conclusive 16-3. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The win made it two in a row for Saddle Brook and bumps their season record up to 17-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Wallington, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-13-1.

Wallington might still be hurting after the 14-3 loss they got from Saddle Brook in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
