Softball Recap: Clear Lake Comes Up Short

Clear Lake came into this matchup off a tough eight-run defeat on Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Iowa Falls-Alden Cadets by a score of 4-2 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Lions have suffered against the Cadets since June 15, 2020.

This is the second loss in a row for Clear Lake and nudges their season record down to 14-8. As for Iowa Falls-Alden, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record this season.

Clear Lake didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-0 win against Humboldt on the 1st. As for Iowa Falls-Alden, they will venture away from home to face off against Webster City at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
