Soccer Recap: Temple City Takes a Loss

The matchup between Temple City and La Canada on Wednesday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Temple City Rams came up short against the La Canada Spartans, falling 8-3. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 535th, while the Spartans are ranked 71st).

Temple City hit La Canada with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Adele Ellis, Azalea Mata, and Kayla Day.

Temple City has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7-1 record this season. As for La Canada, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Temple City will head out to take on Monrovia at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Monrovia will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Temple City surely won't give up without a fight. As for La Canada, they will venture away from home to square off against San Marino at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. La Canada is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.1 goals per game this season.
