Football Recap: Bleckley County Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Bleckley County entered their tilt with Washington County on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They strolled past the Golden Hawks with points to spare, taking the game 44-26. This was payback for the Royals, who suffered a 21-17 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Brody Fleming had an outrageously good game as he threw for 327 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.1 yards per attempt. Those five passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Bleckley County's leading receiver Octavius Tate was Fleming's top target yet again, picking up 117 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Bleckley County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kelvin Sneed Jr and Jireh Campbell. Campbell has been hot recently, having also posted five or more total tackles the last three times he's played. Another thorn in Washington County's side was Malachi Ates, who picked up a sack and made nine total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Bleckley County's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Washington County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Bleckley County didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 50-0 win against Jefferson County on the 26th. As for Washington County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 46-6 victory against Central on the 26th.
