Softball Recap: Lisbon Takes a Loss

Lisbon managed to slip by Alburnett the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Lions lost 8-2 to the Pirates on Saturday. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pirates earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Lisbon has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-10 record this season. As for Alburnett, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-9 record this season.

Lisbon will be playing in front of their home fans against Maquoketa Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Lions' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Alburnett, they will head out on the road to square off against Midland at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
