Baseball Recap: Forest Takes a Loss

The matchup between Forest and Buchholz on Tuesday hardly resembled the 3-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Forest Wildcats lost 13-6 to the Buchholz Bobcats. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Bobcats: they've now lost five in a row.

Forest got a good showing from Jason Rodriguez, who pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. The dominant performance also gave Rodriguez a new career-low in walks (zero).

On the hitting side, Dillon Grace was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

Forest's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Buchholz, they pushed their record up to 10-0 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.

Forest and Buchholz should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Forest will face off against Lake Weir at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday up 303 places (201 vs. 504). Meanwhile, Buchholz (ranked third) will meet Bishop Kenny (ranked 404th) at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
